Paper Heart The Movie

No idea when Paper Heart will be released in Australia, but it looks like it'll be worth the wait. So wish Michael Cera was my brother.

Has It Really Been 20 Days....

.....since I last blogged? That's what getting into Twilight will do. I'm not linking to it because you deserve the effort of googling if you've managed to escape it thus far.

I was concerned that as a happily married mum-of-two in my thirties my fascination with Edward Cullen could have had the potential to turn into serious teenage-like obsession. I've heard about Twi-hards so reeled it in and have moved on a set of more, well, intellectual series of books by Malcolm Gladwell. Outliers was fascinating. Onto Blink now.

I also managed a short trip away sans kids to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland. I could go on about how freaking amazing it was to read Breaking Dawn for more than five minutes without interruption, but it was also great to just hang out with the other half like old times. We thawed out in the sunny 28+ degree weather and road-tripped up to Cape Tribulation cataloging some beautiful scenery on my new digital SLR. I'm still learning......

Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas

Mossman Gorge

I was just a tad excited about the opportunity of being kid-free for a few days, but that didn't compare to the prospect of the reunion. Big hugs warm the cockles of the heart to be sure. Anyway lots of posts to do in coming days.

Dan Zambonini's New London Tube Map

Dan Zambonini replaced tube names with points of interest on his version of the London tube map which would be helpful for tourists. Seems to have become a group project by the look of the comments.

Sincerely, John Hughes

John Hughes films had a rather large impact on my life growing up and probably for the same reasons as thousands of teenagers all over the world.

Naturally The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles and Pretty In Pink rate highly, but my most favourite Hughes films are Some Kind of Wonderful and Career Opportunities. Mr Mom was on high rotation there for a while.

Check out this story about a Alison, who as a teenager in the mid-1980s, had John Hughes as a pen pal -it's amazing and heartfelt.

I believe a tribute weekend is in order.
